Jasmin Velasquez, JD - Law Clerk
Born to Mexican immigrants from the State of Jalisco, Ms. Velasquez is a first-generation American in her family. Despite this, she became the first person in her family to graduate from college and pursue graduate studies. Throughout her academic years, Ms. Velasquez was a diligent and high-achieving student who also found time to cultivate her musical and artistic talents, being a member of the marching band and developing her skills as a painter.
Ms. Velasquez holds a degree in English and Chicano Studies from UCSB, where she served as treasurer of San Rafael Hall Dorm. She later earned her Juris Doctor degree from Santa Barbara Colleges of Law in 2020. Ms. Velasquez is fluent in both English and Spanish, and she also possesses conversational proficiency in Italian.
Despite her busy schedule, Ms. Velasquez makes time for her passion for reading and writing fiction novels whenever possible. Additionally, she dedicates her free time to volunteering with Ms. Ferreira's foster animals.
